Changing your phone? Think twice if you are a StepSetGo user.
I had reached level 3 in StepSetGo, and my average earnings per day have touched 15 SSG, including the extra reward coins. My coin balance has crossed 300 SSG in about three weeks since I installed the app. It calls for a rejoice, right? Even I thought so before things turned turtle.
My phone fell accidentally on a rough patch, and the impact was a damaged screen. I switched over to an alternate phone while mine was taken to the service center, and tried logging in to the app with my credentials. But the app won't let me in! After trying to get in a couple of times, I shot a mail to StepSetGo customer support but could get their response only after two days. Did they solve the issue by then? NO. The support personnel replied to my ticket asking if things got sorted out on its own!
After emailing them the screenshot with the error message, I heard from them again only after two days, asking the same question. After four days, the app on my new phone finally allowed me to sign in. Since none of my steps are counted in during those four days, the app stepped me down from Level 3 to Level 2, urging me to complete the minimum number of steps, failing which I will be downgraded to Level 1 soon!
Things are back to normal after that issue was resolved on its own. But I think this is a serious issue which will affect any user. The app developer should modify the code to allow a smooth transition from one phone to another, without asking the user to wait for two or more days. It appears to me that StepSetGo is punishing us for changing the phone!
